The UK Foods Standards Agency advises that amounts of Calcium in excess of 1500mg may cause stomach upset in sensitive individuals Important. Thyroxine users - please read carefully Recent research suggests that calcium supplementation may cause the medicine thyroxine (widely prescribed to treat an underactive thyroid) to be less effective and may slow the absorption of thyroxine into the bloodstream and thus lower effectiveness. Individuals are advised that taking calcium and thyroxine 6 to 12 hours apart may prevent interference. In every event, we would advise all individuals to inform their doctor of all supplements they are taking in conjunction with thyroxine.
Dosage
