Solgar's Skin, Nails & Hair Formula has been carefully designed to provide the body with the nutrients required to make collagen and keratin, both important structural components of body tissues including the hair, skin and nails. The formula includes MSM, an organic form of sulphur that is critical for the formation of collagen, which forms the foundation of skin. Sulphur compounds are also required in keratin synthesis, and are essential to the formation of hair filaments and nail tissue. Also provided in the formula are vitamin C, zinc, proline, lysine and silica, all of which have been shown to be necessary for the proper formation of collagen. Copper helps convert tyrosine into a compound that is necessary for the pigmentation of the skin and hair. Deficiencies of these nutrients may occur because of inappropriate diet, food refining, stress or simply due to the ageing process. Solgar's Hair Skin and Nails Formula therefore provides a unique formulation aimed at providing both the raw materials and the synergistic nutrients requited for the formation of the iimportant structural components of the hair, skin and nails.
