Strange but true! A new study has indicated that eating a small amount of dark chocolate on a daily basis may help the body prevent the formation of dangerous blood clots...

The study carried out at Johns Hopkins University carried out the tests on 139 subjects and found that eating a little good quality, high cocoa solids dark chocolate or dark cocoa as part of a regular diet is good for cardiovascular health and may work in a similar way to aspirin... obviously due to the fat content, restraint is the key!

The active ingredients seem to be the flavenoids contained within the cocoa beans affecting platelet clumping and reducing the affects accordingly finding that the non-chocolate users had a tendency to aggregate platelets - a definate indicator to abnormal blood clotting - to a greater lever than the non-choccies... isn't science wonderful!
