Vitamin D, the 'sunshine' vitamin, is normally produced in the skin after exposure to sunlight. We also get it from food such as fish and animal livers. This vitamin's importance in the absorption of calcium and preventing osteoporosis is well established. But researchers have recently discovered many other quite remarkable health benefits, including reducing the risk of certain cancers and other diseases. Higher Nature's Vitamin D is provided in its most bio-available form, cholecalciferol (called vitamin D3), and as an oil in a capsule (tablets of vitamin D are less effective).
